What I did on my "Last Day of Summer"

I woke up in the morning, and attempted to put my contacts in... only to realize I'd yet again forgotten to take them out the night before. It had me pretty nervous for a second until I realized there was a good reason my contact case was empty!

After getting ready, I walked outside. I gave the pumpkin plant it's morning scolding for taking over my parking space on the driveway, then headed to work.

Then I spent the next few hours at my job! I actually really enjoy working at Raintree, it's been a lot of fun! I'm learning a lot of things I never expected to learn, and meeting lots of fun people from all over. This last week I talked to students from Denmark, Chile, Congo, and Cuba.

I do have to admit, though, work has been pretty crazy! It's been so busy for the past couple of weeks we haven't had time for lunch breaks... so I've had quite a few more of these than I normally would have in other circumstances!

After work I headed home. I listened to Mika and had my sunroof open the whole ride there. Needless to say, I had a big smile on my face for the whole ride. :)

My camera is not excellent, but the sun through the clouds was really pretty on the way home, so I took a picture once I parked the car.

The upstairs neighbors just had a baby, and this has been outside in the driveway ever since we moved in... I can't figure out if he's just been too busy to finish it, or if they had a girl instead and it's been abandoned until the next one. Either way, I think it's pretty cool!

When I walked through the door, this was literally sitting 2 feet from the entrance. According to my hubby, "our dog" sat there to wait for me to come home, and refused to move from the spot.

I didn't take my camera with me for the rest of the night, but we decided to go for a walk for our FHE. We ended up at a local crepe restaurant called Roll It Up where we had some really yummy dessert crepes. Then we walked another 5 minutes to a BBQ restaurant and had dinner afterward! To top it off, we walked to the park by our place and sat on the swings for a while, listened to the crickets and just enjoyed summer.

I definitely had a great day. :)
