Halfsies

Wow! The last time I had a chance to post anything on this blog, I was posting pictures of my paper chain when I first hung it up. Now look at it!

It's halfway there!
(I love that it's managed to stay up like that... it's going to drive Nick nuts when he sees it tonight.)

Since I started this chain, my life has been bonkers!!

I've been living on my own for most of the week, and saying "goodbye" to Nick every week when he leaves at the end of the weekend. That's had its set of normal challenges, the hardest of which just feeling like my husband's a human yo-yo. And I've never been any good with yo-yos.

I've learned that strategic tennis shoe placement is essential when you live in a basement by yourself. Many a critter has fallen by the sole of Nick's size fourteens. That is probably the one thing I will definitely NOT miss about this place.

Everything else... yeah. What can I say, this is our first place! I'm sad to leave it, but not so sad that it keeps me from being excited about where we're going! I found this thing online, and I plan to make it if we can keep one of our house keys. Someone mentioned putting a map showing where your first place was behind it... we'll have to see how it turns out. :)

Next week I'm moving in with the parents, which officially makes both of us "that kid". You know, the one that moves back in after being on their own. Anyone that knows me understands how stubborn and independent I am, so that's going to be an interesting transition for me. BUT I am so glad I'm going to get to spend a month with my family before I move 150 miles away.

The one main highlight of my week was that I finished my capstone course! For those of you that don't know, this course was 1 credit that required anywhere from 8 to 12 hours each week on top of my other 15 credits. This class was one major pain in the... well, you know.

But it's done now- and I feel great! I'm halfway through the semester, and one class less. The light at the end of the tunnel is finally starting to show itself.

When we were dating, we decided everything we did  would be an "adventure"(including everything from walking to the park to going grocery shopping), and I'm excited  to start out on our next adventure together. I feel so blessed to be where we're at. It's never perfect, and it's not always glamorous or even easy, but it's our life and we make the best of it.

Gotta go, he just got home! <3
