Traveling Around

Man, after a month of no trips anywhere, it was so fun to make it out to the city twice in November!

We drove out to go see the Lil Bro perform in his school play, which was awesome. Unfortunately, all we really had time to do was go to the play then turn around and come home, because the Hubster needed to be back in town for work.

BUT, a couple days later we headed right back out to spend some time with my family for Thanksgiving. It was so good to see everyone!

While we were out there, we got to drive around and see a bunch of people we haven't seen in a while. I know this move was the right thing, but it still kills me how far away everyone is!

2 Trips out means well over 12 hours in the car in a week and a half, so we spent a lot of time looking out our car windows at the scenery. So, please pardon the barrage of cell-phone-camera-through-car-window pictures. :)

Driving through the mountains in the late fall means we get to see cool things like fog rolling in off the mountains.

And, sometimes, we even get to drive through the fog.

Other times, we get to witness some beautiful things. This picture really doesn't do it justice, but I have never seen colors more vivid on a rainbow in my life! It was also pretty cool to see two rainbows stretch all the way across the sky. :)

We usually leave too late to see a sunset, but we had to leave early to beat a storm across the mountains... and I'm glad we did! The skyline through the peaks was the most gorgeous collection of blues, blacks, purples, and grays. I kept telling the Hubster I wished we had a real camera to capture this moment, because it was absolutely breathtaking.

More of the beautiful sunset, fading into night; and, an oil drill at night. We always know we're getting close to home when we can see those big drill lights and flames along the way!

We managed to make it out to see temple square while we were out. This isn't exactly a through-the-car-window-shot, but I figure the random guy at the forefront of the only picture from temple square that turned out puts it about on the same level as the others. You can't win em all! ;)

Even with all the cool things we see, I have to admit that by far, this is my favorite view from our trips back and forth. :)

(I had to risk my phone's very life to get this... it took about 20 shots to get one of him that worked, and I'm pretty sure he was about ready to get violent with that giant candy cane! *wink*) It's a good thing we love each other! And that he's patient. That too. :D
