I have a small rotation of songs that get stuck in my head. I somehow manage to get through the list at least once a month, usually more. Some of these songs are "normal"... others are, well, more like today's song.
The song of the day today apparently is La Bamba.
You know, this one:
Yes, I know it's not the original. That doesn't change the fact that it's this version that is stuck in my head.
Within the first week and a half of adopting our little fuzzball, I had this song in my head. (It must have been my turn through the January rotation.) I was home alone - not including the fuzzball - so I really had no problem singing as much as I could remember, then looking up the lyrics and playing the youtube videos to get the rest of the lyrics down.
For the record, I knew both verses. It was just the choruses that threw me. Nerdy. I know.
Well, Baby Fuzz really had no idea what to do with this strange human making weird sounds. She tolerated it well, and even put her tiny little paws up on the stool so I could pet her while I was goofing around.
Fast forward to today, when the song popped into my head again. The fuzzbucket was in the front room chilling on our giant ottoman. (For once she was chewing on something she was supposed to chew on. It was great!)
Before I even realized what I was doing, I was belting "Para bailar la bamba! Para bailar la bamba se necesita una poca de gracia!"
And the fuzzbucket came RUNNING. I mean, she didn't just trot over here. We're talking the same exact speed as the "I just heard the treat bag get opened!" run.
She jumped right up and stuck her paws on the chair I was sitting on and looked up at me like "Pet me! This song means you pet me, right? Pet me pleeeeeaaaaase? I'm too cute to ignore!"
It's seriously like she was saying "Come on! This is our song!" It was so stinking adorable!

hahaha thats awesome. And at least you know the actual WORDS to that song. Because I don't. haha Ijust sign BLAH LA LA LA LABAMBA! haha
