In my defense... I've been kinda busy. Weddings are not as easy as they sound!
Wedding plans...
Invitations? Mailed.
Cake? Design picked, not the baker.
Reception? Planned.
Dress? Coming along. And beautiful. And looks something like this... but not this... and with sleeves.

And speaking of weddings... We've been to 2 Dennis Family weddings in the past month! Nick's little brother got married in the middle of June, and his cousin got married last weekend. We've been all over the place driving to receptions!
By the way, anyone have tips on memorizing family names? Both of Nick's parents have 6 siblings each, so there are a LOT of aunts and uncles and cousins and grandparents and grandkids and probably even a few pets. I got some sage advice from one of the married-into-the-family cousins: "I stopped saying "Nice to meet you" a long time ago, because I know I've probably already met them more than once." It's nice to know I'm not the only one! ;)
At our apartment, we've started moving a few things and and cleaning up the yard! It's going to be a cute little place by the time we're done in that yard! Right now I'm in the process of trying to talk Nick into letting me buy some weedkiller for the little white flower weeds that has taken over the lawn. We've also reclaimed the flowerbed and cleared the path to the storage unit. The driveway's my next project. Those weeds are going down!
I'll post pictures of our apartment as soon as we get moved in a little more- right now it's covered in some of Nick's things, because he's moving in this week. I think I have a video of the apartment, I'll see if I can get some stills from that!
Work is finally picking up again! I went and talked to my manager and told him I was tired of the slow monotony we've had over the last couple weeks and asked him for a project. I've been given free reign to plan an outdoor movie marathon, and it's been a blast! We're showing Harry Potter 5, then we'll show the next two (one a week) and give out tickets to see the last one in theaters. It's going to be a lot of fun!
I've also taken it upon myself to read the Hunger Games books. It never ceases to amaze me that it doesn't matter how tired I am, because there's always time to read "just one more chapter". I am going to be glad when these books are done- I need sleep!
One more thing! I had a trial run with one of the potential makeup artists for my wedding this morning. My face is caked with pretty stuff! I've been told by several people that my eyes just "POP" (usually said with primary-esque popcorn popping hand motions) so I'm guessing that it looks good! You can check out her website if you'd like- she has lots of makeup tutorial videos that are pretty cool.
Well- I better go! I have 2 hours of work left, then I need to go fix some chicken noodle soup for my under-the-weather fiance, then it's back to Harry Potter! Have a great day!
(And feel free to hassle me if I forget to post again- I really do think it's a great idea to post regularly during this crazy time. It'll be cool to look back and see how everything came together!)
I love reading your posts...what is the website for the make up artist? I would love some help in that area! (Like I really have time to do much of anything different!)
ReplyDeleteThanks for going to the temple with me! I sure needed it!
I fixed the link so it was a little more obvious that's what it was!
ReplyDeleteThanks to YOU for giving me the pep talk I needed. Life has been much, much better since we had that talk.
