Nerd Alert

Okay, we all know I love Harry Potter. Those of us that don't know, should. Shame on you.

So when I saw all of those hilariously wonderful pictures of toilet decals like this one, I knew I had to find a way to bring that to my bathroom.

That being said, I'm REALLY not huge into decals. And I'm definitely not huge into putting them on my toilet, a place that regularly gets wiped down with bleach products. Just the thought of what could remain on the edges of those decals gives me the heebie jeebies. Ew.

So I looked in my "eventually will make it to DI" pile, and found an unused picture frame that came as part of a 2 piece set. At the time it was cheaper to buy the two than to buy just the one that I wanted, and the inner hoarder in me said I'd find a way to use it eventually.

Guess what? For once I was right!

So I put my thinking cap on, and got to work. An hour later, I had downloaded 3 Harry Potter fonts, played with word, and put my printer to use. This was the end result:

It sat like that for about a week. I know. Slacker. Then I finally got around to cutting everything out. Now, I'm a little OCD, (Also something we should all know by now) so I was NOT okay with word strips. I spent about an hour and a half cutting out each individual letter, as well as the symbols.
(It was worth it.)

Then it sat like that for another month. I know, Mom. "Finish what you start!"

Then, I got looking at it and I decided the bottom looked weird, so I rearranged the words and added a little something extra to even it out.

Then it sat for another couple of weeks. It took a planned birthday party for me to get my rear in gear and finish this beast. THE DAY OF the party, I spent a crazy 10 minutes getting everything lined up and gluesticked down.

And voila, the end result:

The Hubster was such a good sport and agreed to hang it up for me, even though it was his birthday, and he's not exactly a huge fan of anything Wizardly.

I have to admit, I'm pretty excited about how it looks in the bathroom!

Eventually, when I'm loaded and can spend money however I want (ha!) I want to get a shower curtain that has at least some House colors. Nothing that screams THEMED BATHROOM, but something tasteful that could be realized by someone that was paying attention.

Now I just need to make some Harry Potter friends out here, so I'll have someone besides me that appreciates it. ;)
