Doctor, doctor

As promised, I'll tell you a little about the doctor stuff going on.

For almost 2 years, I have had a pain in my lower right rib cage/upper right abdomen. It comes and it goes, and sometimes I completely forget about it.

While Nick and I were dating, 2 Christmases ago, it took a turn for the worse. My parents took me to the ER to have an ultrasound done, and they couldn't find anything. Then a couple of weeks later at a ward party, the bishopbric from our singles ward gave me a blessing.

That was a very special night and a very special blessing. Details aside, the short version is that after the priesthood blessing, the pain went away. I am very grateful for the priesthood. More than once I've been given a healing blessing and witnessed firsthand the mercies of a loving Heavenly Father who knows exactly what we need.

Recently, the pain has returned, and Momma Dennis convinced me to go in and have a physical done.

The physical went alright. (This part may be TMI, so skip to the next paragraph if you don't want to hear about something a little more... girly.) I was a little nervous, but I had done some reading and it all said that a OB-GYN physical wasn't a big deal. When the doctor came in, he said "How are you?" "Oh, I'm doing good too, but better than you because I don't have to go through what you're about to." Then a couple minutes later he said "Oh, you've never done this before? It's terrible. You're going to hate it."

FORTUNATELY, it went just fine. No pain, no big deal. I still don't know if the doctor was just trying to psyche me out by saying it was awful so I would be happy when it wasn't bad... or if it was supposed to be terrible and I was just lucky.

After the exam, the doctor sent me to radiology to schedule a CT scan to see if they could figure out what's causing the pain in my side.

So, that means that as of midnight tonight, I can't eat any food. And tomorrow morning I get to drink a couple of rather... delicious? -looking shakes.

Don't they just look scrumptious? They're even berry flavored! Woot!

So, here's to hoping that (in a couple weeks) we'll finally have an answer, and a reason for this mystery pain!

See, I told you I wasn't dying. :)
