One at a time!

I will admit this right up front. I love Christmas. I do, I do, I do-o-o-o.
Bonus Points if you know what that's from.

BUT. With that love for Christmas, I have also developed a couple of strong holiday-related opinions. I stand by these opinions, and I will not waiver.

1. Christmas is in December. Not October, November, or January.

Over the last few days, I have caught myself, at random, singing Christmas songs. I don't know why or how they are popping into my head, but I don't know what to do about it! Sometimes they're even obscure Christmas songs from the hymn book. It's weird.

Today, after a harrying round of doctor appointments and insurance phone calls, I caught myself singing "Happiness is a Warm Gun" by the Beatles.

Good to know I'm back to normal! haha

(PS, I'll post more about the appointments in a bit, but don't worry. I'm not dying, and everything's okay. At least until Wednesday.)

2. Black Friday Shopping totally defeats the purpose of Christmas.

This opinion is true for MOST circumstances. I think Christmas is over-commercialized and Black Friday just plays to that standpoint. It makes me sad that a celebration of our Savior's birth has been turned into a mad rush for good deals.

It's like...

If people are screaming, employees are scared, and people get trampled, that's just not Christmas, okay?

I'd rather get no present at all than have to deal with that nonsense. Being with family, seeing pretty lights up all around, and watching a Muppet Christmas Carol is already a perfect Christmas for me.

I don't understand why people would want to sit outside all night in the cold, when they could be at home with family members that get a rare vacation day off from their jobs. I'm also just not a morning person... so the whole "getting up early" thing doesn't fly in my book either.

Now, I'm not saying that all Black Friday shoppers are sadistic, evil deal-mongering demons. I know plenty of people that think it's fun to go brave the crowds and get a good deal. That's great. If you know what you want to give someone for Christmas, and you know you can get a good deal, go for it! Way to be frugal!

Just don't expect me to join you. Imma be at home, where it's warm, eating leftovers or sleeping.

Plus. You can't get trampled while you're shopping online. Just sayin'.
