Trip #3: England

WOW I AM SO FAR BEHIND.

Okay. Freak out over. On to the real post.

May's date-night-around-the-world was to ENGLAND! (to see what I'm talking about... go here)

This date was a little last minute because I had a lot going on... but I still think it turned out fun!

For the "activity" part, we made Stonehenge out of Rice Krispies. (BONUS! They had a big box of them on sale at the grocery store, so we have lunch snacks for a month!)

Above ^ The Setup...Below v the end result
(Mine is the one with the little Union Jack made out of frosting and sprinkles)

Eh? Eh? EH? I think they're pretty legit. See? Check out the real thing: This is on my bucket list of places I want to see before I die.

Then it was time for dinner! I was bound and determined to work The Beatles into this date somehow, so I let loose a playlist during dinner so we could be serenaded while we ate. It wasn't exactly the Beatles Trivia Extravaganza I was hoping for, but I still thoroughly enjoyed it. :)

For the meal, I just couldn't resist making one of the Hubster's favorites.

Fish and chips! I know they aren't "actual chips" but... like I said. This was during a busy time. I wasn't about to spend all afternoon making my own. Sorry hubs... you know I love you anyway, even if I don't make you REAL chips on our England date, right? Right?

The bonus to using the pretend-real-chips? There were a couple that were MASSIVE. So, being the big kids we are, we played with them before we ate them. (sorry, Mom!)

I mean... look at that thing. It's at least twice as long and twice as thick as my thumb.

No big deal. He's just eating a potato WHOLE. Oh wait... that's just a fry chip.

Basically every website I looked at for "Traditional English Drinks" said it was all alcoholic. So... this date night gave us another opportunity to bust out a Martinelli's and call it good. I know our addiction to this stuff might be just a LITTLE unhealthy, but we don't have it very often. And we only have 4 in the pantry because they were on SALE. So get off my back, okay!?

Then, to cap off the entire evening, we watched a movie. And, of course, since I let the hubster choose, we ended up watching another James Bond movie! [I don't mind. :)]
