We had such a wonderful weekend! Of course... I totally spaced it and didn't take any pictures of the things we did on Saturday... so you'll have to look at these ones and pretend. :)
To celebrate the temple's dedication, our Stake declared Saturday a "Day of Service", so we all gathered at the park at 8am and got to work.
Service: (n) One of few things that can get Becca out of bed when the time starts with a 7 on a Saturday morning.
Not gonna lie... I forgot about it till Nick work me up at 7:45. I'm so glad he remembered!
Nick and I ended up at the home of an elderly lady who could no longer take care of her yard. We hauled out probably around 6 or 8 truckloads of tree branches, garbage, and a lot of these:
| Sagebrush: The bane of the basin's existence (according to the Hubster). |
A man from our stake also built some new stairs for the front of her house so she'd have an easier time getting in and out. She kept coming out on the front porch and thanking us for what we were doing. We were there for around 3 hours, and it just felt good walking away knowing we had made a difference. There's just something about a good service project that just puts a smile on my face!
After that we went to the house and spent the next 3 hours running the networking cable on our house! (I am REALLY kicking myself for not taking any pictures!) Papa Dennis spent all his time driving back and forth and getting the boxes built for our speakers, and the Hubster's coworker Brent helped us pull all the wire.
I was a much happier camper after Nick bought me one of these:

Running the network was actually pretty fun! I rather enjoyed myself between the funny banter and watching the boys climb around like monkeys on the rafters. Kinda like this. Only with no fans. And wooden rafters.

***We now interrupt your scheduled blogging for a brief message ***
The Hubster just swatted a moth AT MY HEAD!
It was unintentional... and he DID get it... but only after it hit me. He feels bad. So does my head. And the moth. But we still love each other (Me and the Hubster... not the moth).
***We now return you to your regularly scheduled blogging***
Sunday afternoon we made some really yummy Vanilla Oatmeal No-Bake Cookies.
Then afterward we went outside to enjoy the weather and took turns whittling some apple wood.

Then I had a little green hitchhiker try to take a ride on my hand (He went back to the grass after his close-up).
Then Momma Dennis made a really yummy breakfast casserole, which is a recipe I MUST have.
And later that night I looked over to see the Hubsters eating all of the pistachios that Papa Dennis bought. I asked him if Papa Dennis was going to be mad if he ate them all, and he showed me that the bag was just full of the shells! Apparently Momma and Papa D know that he likes the salt, so they save the shells for him.
I just realized I probably ought to take some pictures of our "apartment" so I can look back on this someday. You may or may not end up seeing it sometime soon on here. :)

| This is his "I'm cracking up because I was trying to be serious but it took too long for you to take the picture" face. |
